What happens when artists from different countries step onto the same stage without sharing a common language?

Bridges is born.

Bridges is an international improvisational theatre performance that explores the boundaries of nonverbal communication, emotions, and body language. Five performers, five different cultural backgrounds, and countless forms of expression meet live on stage: English, French, Slovenian, and Hungarian languages, alongside movement, music, lighting, humor, and the tools of physical theatre.

This performance does not communicate on the level of words. It does not explain — it happens. Emotions, rhythm, gestures, and immediate connection with the audience help us understand one another, even when words sometimes disappear. The host speaks in English or Hungarian, while the actors experiment with each other’s languages — and how scenes emerge from this Babel-like confusion is revealed only on the spot. Every night is different.

The Bridges show is entirely improvised: scenes, stories, and relationships are created in the moment, from the shared energy of the performers and the audience. No two performances are the same; each evening is a unique and unrepeatable experience. Bridges is not only a performance, but a shared exploration: how we can connect beyond linguistic and cultural boundaries. A celebration of diversity, human presence, and the power of spontaneous encounters.
